Barrell Bourbon - Batch 034

 

Time for another, Barrell Bourbon release review - batch 034 is a marriage of American white oak barrels ranging from 6 to 15-years-old; coming in at 57.31% abv.

Colour: Deep Cooper (Whisky Colour Guide)

Nose: Immense and potent floral, citrusy, fruity and slightly nutty aromas.

Palate: Rich immensely textural with a generous heap of sweet spice prevalent flavor on the palate, bolstered by a buttery sweetness and a citrus thick-cut ginger zing.

Finish: After the initial avalanche of spice the finish tappers off into a sweet creamy finish.

So far, I've had the pleasure of reviewing the Barrell Vantage as well as  batches 032, 033 and 034 - each expression highly enjoyable.  A side-by-side tasting is on the cards so that I can simply kick back and enjoy the subtle nuances of these wonderfully crafted whiskies.
