Jeptha Creed Red White & Blue Kentucky Straight Bourbon

The name is derived from the other two heirloom corns used in the mashbill (blue and white) - which is a departure from their historically, predominantly higher percentage of bloody butcher heirloom corn used within their mashbill.  Bottled at 50% abv.

Mashbill: 25% Bloody Butcher Heirloom Corn
                 25% Heirloom White Corn
                 25% Bruce's Blue Heirloom Corn
                 20% Malted Rye
                 5% Malted Barley

Colour: Tawny

Nose:  Nice rich fruity flavors on the nose, delightfully dulcet, apple turnovers, rich tea biscuit with hints of peanut-coated caramel apples and a light citrusy finish.

Palate: A rich, muscular and tasty profusion of fruits greet your palate, more of that apple turnover, a little more spice prevalent on the palate, spicy oak, bolstered by a buttery vanilla sweetness.

Finish:  Medium, buttery vanilla giving way to a wonderful spicy finish with hints of cinnamon and cloves.

This has now become one of my favorite bourbons, each component expertly crafted for a truly remarkable drinking experience.  Would like to thanks the folks at Jeptha Creed for sending me this sample to review!  Will certainly be adding this to my next single malt whisky blind tasting to gauge their response.

SlĂ inte mhath!
