Bourbon Baggers

Bourbon Baggers is a product that claims to infuse your whisky with flavor and the complexity of a charred or toasted barrel in minutes.  It consists of small bags of American oak that you place in your glass and pour your drink over, just like making a good old fashioned cup of English tea.

Thus far, reading reviews, I see the product has received positive reviews from customers who say it adds a fun and interesting twist to their drinking experience.  However, some potential drawbacks are that it may not be reusable, and it may not be authentic to the traditional barrel-aging process, or drinks could be over oaked.  Here is a sample review that I wrote based on the information I found:

I was curious to try Bourbon Bagger after hearing about it online and having tried similar products in the past.  I was gifted two boxes of their Toast and Char barrel options, which are supposed to add a warm vanilla and fruity sweetness to your whisky/bourbon.

I followed the directions and placed a bagger in my glass, then poured some whisky over it.  I waited for about 10 minutes, swirling the glass occasionally, and then took a sip.

The first thing I noticed was the aroma.  It was definitely more intense and inviting than the original whisky.  I could small the oak, vanilla, and caramel notes.  The taste was also noticeably different.  It was smoother. sweeter, and richer than before.  It felt like I was drinking a more expensive and aged whisky.  I was impressed by how much the bagger changed the flavor and character of the whisky.

I tried the same experiment with a few other whiskies/bourbons.  The results were similar, but not identical. Each whisky reacted differently to the bagger, creating a unique and personalized flavor profile.  Some were more enhanced than others, depending on the original quality and taste of the whisky.  I enjoyed experimenting with different combinations and discovering new nuances.

Overall, I think the Bourbon Baggers is a fun and easy way to upgrade your whisky experience.  It is a great option for people who want to try something new and different, or who want to impress their friends with a fancy drink.  It is also a good alternative fro people who don't have the time, money, or patience to buy and age their own barrels.  However, it is not a substitute for the real thing.  It is more of a novelty than a necessity.  It may not appeal to purists or connoisseurs who prefer their whisky unadulterated and authentic.  I never reused my bagger, as it may lose its potency and quality after each use, I would also like to see the bags a little smaller in size and maybe round in shape.

In conclusion, I would recommend Bourbon Baggers to anyone who like whisky and wants to try something new and fun.  It is simple and affordable way to add some flavor and complexity to your drink.  It is not a magic solution, but it is a nice addition.
