Brian Nation - Master Distiller

On the 23rd May 2024, it was my please to have been invited to a Keepers Heart event in Boston (Central Wharf Co.) featuring the man himself, master distiller; Brian Nation.

Brian Nation, is a true legend in the world of Irish Whiskey.  Brian's journey through the whiskey realms is nothing short of remarkable.  Here's a brief glimpse into his illustrious career:

1. Master Distiller at Irish Distillers: For 23 years, Brian was an integral part of Irish Distillers, where he honed his craft and left an indelible mark.  As Master Distiller at the Midleton Distillery, he oversaw some of Ireland's most iconic whiskey brands, including:

• Jameson: The world's best-selling Irish whiskey.
• Redbreast: A beloved single pot still whiskey.
• Midleton Very Rare: A prestigious, limited-edition blend.

         His expertise and passion elevated these spirits to new heights. 

     2.  The move to America:  Brian's journey took an unexpected turn post COVID when he left Irish Distillers.  He was ready to embark on an new adventure across the Atlantic, land in Minnesota of all places, what ere he assumed the role of Master Distiller at O'Shaughnessy Distilling Co.  

O'Shaughnessy Distilling Co. is a small craft venture, but Brian's vision is grand: to blend the rich traditions of Irish whiskey with American innovation.

     3.  Keeper's Heart Whiskey:  Keeper's Heart is a brand that celebrates family and heritage, with Brian's taste for whiskey and the opportunity to explore new expressions, brought him to this venture.  Keeper's Heart aims to create something entirely new by fusing whiskey traditions - Irish and American, and judging by the awards already received he's off to a flying start.

In summery, Brian Nation's legacy extends beyond labels and barrels.  It's about passion, craftsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence.  So here's to Brian - a master distiller who bridges continents and flavors, leaving an indelible mark on the whiskey world!
